Toyota Comes to the Aid of Cold Detroit Residents

We here at Elk Grove Toyota  know that our favorite Japanese automaker is about more than just delivering a smooth ride backed by a solid build quality, though that is exactly what you'll find in most vehicles in the new Toyota lineup. Toyota is about giving back, and that's just what they've done recently with the help of the Salvation Army and Moosejaw, a Michigan-based outdoor retailer.

More specifically, the three entities came together to bring more than 150 women and children in Detroit some warm boots to wear this winter. The program was officially dubbed the Walk in My Boots community project, and it was hosted at the Denby Center. The Denby Center, for those of you who don't know, also provides families with shelter and female veterans with transitional housing.

Of course, it wasn't enough that Toyota helped with such a great cause. The company also wanted to give back a little more. That's why they donated extra $10,000 to the the Salvation Army to support the Denby Center with. "I decided to come here to get the help that I need. I'm going to get up out of here soon,"1 explains Monique Hudson, whose two daughters were some of the recipients to get the boots.

If your heart is warmed by the actions of Toyota lately, trust us, you're not alone. The company has gone above and beyond what they need to do, and everyone here at 9640 West Stockton Blvd. Elk Grove, CA 95757 applauds them for it. Of course, we would expect nothing less from the company that supports the environment with hybrid models like the Toyota Prius, Prius v and Camry Hybrid.
