Toyota Corolla Sales Jump Puts it Ahead of All Compact Cars

Drivers in the greater Sacramento area who want fuel efficiency and practicality usually turn to the 2012 Toyota Corolla, and the latest April sales numbers for the compact sedan prove it; the Corolla increased the number of units sold by 2.4 percent.
That figure might not sound like much, but the 24,804 new Corolla models sold outdid all its competitors as the only compact car to meet its sales demands in the calendar year. Made right here in America at the Blue Springs, Mississippi plant, the Toyota Corolla is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine available in manual and automatic transmission that can reach up to 132 horsepower. Perhaps most important with buyers looking to save time and money at the pump, the Corolla boasts an estimated 27 miles per gallon city, and 34 mpg hwy.
The new Corolla wasn't the only vehicle to top the sales sheet though. Leading the way with 36,820 units sold, the Toyota Camry along with the Camry Hybrid continued to show its popularity in the sedan segment nationwide. There's also the 2012 RAV4, as the Toyota SUV posted a steady 15,196 units sold as well. Across the board, there was a 12 percent gain from last April, as 160,493new Toyota models were sold at dealerships like us here at Elk Grove Toyota.
