Toyota Sports an Interesting Prius Accessory in Tokyo

Perhaps you've heard of the Tokyo Auto Salon... Maybe not? It's similar in nature to the SEMA Show, where automakers sport decked out variants of their best-selling models. It's an even that's truly one of a kind, and we here at Elk Grove Toyota can't get enough of it! And at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota came boasting what is, perhaps, the single most interesting customization of all.

While other automakers came touting flashy, sports-tuned, and all-around generically souped-up versions of their vehicles, Toyota teamed with a company called Camp-Inn to truly transform the Toyota Prius. Into what, you ask? As the company's name implies, into a true camper, of course!

Alright, alright, we realize that camping in the great outdoors isn't exactly the first thing the comes to mind when picturing the Japanese automaker's lauded hybrid. Maybe saving Mother Nature does, but enjoying everything it has to offer and sleeping under the stars? Traversing rugged terrain? Probably not.

But that's exactly why Toyota and Camp-Inn teamed up to do this. The new camper add-on accessory provides ample sleeping room for four, a full-size backdoor for easy access, and a stylish appearance for your Prius to boot. As for when it will be available here in at 8480 Laguna Grove Dr. Elk Grove, CA 95757... Toyota didn't disclose that just yet, but you can bet that we'll keep you updated on its progress.

Of course, if you're not in the market for a new hybrid, then you can also peruse the rest of the new Toyota lineup and arrange a test drive at your next convenience.
