Toyota Lets the Fans Decide Who Should Win a Car in Their "Cars for Good" Program

It isn't enough for Toyota to want to innovate their lineup, they want to do good for the rest of the world as well. And, of course, the best way for Toyota to do this is to help out those in need by giving them a new set of wheels. In their "Cars for Good" program, Toyota is now planning on giving away 100 new vehicles to 100 different nonprofit organizations from May 9th until August 16th

Toyota accepted submissions from March 7thst. After they collected their submissions, they called in an independent panel of judges to narrow them down to 500 finalists. And now, this is where the fans come in. Toyota is now opening the vote up online, profiling five finalist organizations every day. The public will be allowed to vote for which organization they feel should win the car. Those who wish to vote can go to Toyota's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/toyota) and check out which organizations are currently being featured.

Toyota knows that they are dealing with a diverse range of organizations in this contest too. That is why they are offering more options to the winners than just a Corolla or a Prius. Since not every nonprofit operates under the same space, fuel-efficiency, and power needs, Toyota is giving the winners a choice between six different vehicles: the Prius, TundraTacoma, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna or Sienna Mobility.

Toyota also knows that these nonprofits might need a little help keeping their new ride working like new, which is why Toyota will be offering the winners a six-year 100,000-miles Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement free of charge.

"Congratulations to the nonprofits selected as '100 Cars for Good' finalists, and to all of those who applied for consideration," said Jim Lentz, President, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., speaking on the announcement of the "100 Cars for Good" finalists.  "We look forward to seeing the public voting and the end results - these vehicles being used to help local communities across the country in the weeks, months, and years to come."1
