Toyota Brings Daytona 500 Pace Car to SEMA Show
With its entry into the world of NASCAR so recent, it's hard to believe that the Japanese automaker is already set to make history by being the first-ever non-American automaker to supply a pace car for the Dayton 500. But, whether you believe it or not, the fact remains that it's true, and everyone here at Elk Grove Toyota incredibly excited to see it happen!
Those who have their doubts about Toyota pacing the "Great American Race" need only look to the company's impressive track record thus far in motorsports. More specifically, Toyota entered the world of NASCAR in 2004, with an entry into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) with the Toyota Tundra. Since then, the legendary truck has claimed five wins at the Daytona International Speedway, proving that the Japanese automaker knows the track inside and out.
Furthermore, the Toyota Camry has gone on to enter the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) and NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) in 2007. This Camry too has proven itself capable on the track. It has managed to earn Toyota three consecutive manufacturer's titles in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, from 2008-2010 and it managed to rake in a total of 36 wins in the NASCAR Spring Cup Series.
It's abundantly clear that Toyota has more than earned the right to pace the 2012 Daytona 500, and everyone here at 9640 West Stockton Blvd. Elk Grove, CA 95757 is greatly looking forward to the action.
